VCAA old exams

Hi everyone :)

Has anyone done the old VCAA further exams (e.g. from 2004 and older) and if you have are they helpful?
I'm not sure whether I'm better off doing more recent exams from different companies (e.g. MAV) or doing the old VCAA exams... (because I've heard that they didn't use the same CAS we use... so not sure if they will be any help... :-\ )

Thanks! :)
:) :) :)

Had a quick look and and you'll probably be okay doing those really old exams. I only checked the modules I'm familiar with, but it looks like Geo/Trig and Graphs and Relations are nearly exactly the same. The core seemed to be missing some stuff (but I only checked exam 1s  ::) ), like I didn't see any questions on z-scores or time series. A lot of the questions also seemed fairly simplistic and not an accurate representation on what's likely to be on the coming exam. Personally, I'd go for the company exams.

If you run out though, I don't think they can hurt. ;)

Hi. Just a bit off topic, but could any of you recommend some company exams which are worth doing.  Also where could I purchase these and where could I get some of these for free??

Cheers.

I got mine off my school's online resources - that being the case, I'd say if you can get them this way, they all worth doing (I mean, free stuff is always worth it). Assuming you don't have something similar, either in hard copies (your school's library, maybe?) or at all - itute offer some for free, and some careful googling might point you toward something good too.

Pretty sure if you asked a teacher, they might be able to organise some exams to be purchased. I haven't done very many yet, but I find heffernan usually leans toward too simple or pretty irrelevant - insight's been pretty good, and I also liked TSSM. It's probably a matter of preference, though.  :)

Edit: As for where to purchase if you do it independant of your school, here's some links that might be useful:
Heffernan
TSSM
Insight
Kilbaha
Lisachem
MAV
Neap

there's more than that but I'm actually pretty lazy

How do you rate Kilbaha's exams compared to VCAA?
Are they worth getting?
Cheers.

Kilbaha are definitely on the more challenging side.

I personally don't like them that much. I find the style of their questions to be quite different to VCAA.

But if you're looking for something challenging, then you should get them :)
