Hey guys,
Just wondering what everyone is doing for EL this holiday. I feel like there's so much to do but i don't know where to start...

Tips from past students more than welcome! :)

Same.

What I'm gonna try and do is write a couple of practice AC's and essays, and probably revise up on Unit 3 especially (features of informal/formal lang) and yeah. Maybe try and memorize quotes too lol.

I highly recommend that you complete practice ACs and Essays under 50 min time constraints (plus 5 min reading time, no writing).  These sections are weighted more heavily than Section A (short answer), and a lot of students are still having trouble with their time-management.  Make sure you have looked at the criteria and know what you need to focus on (e.g. AC - purpose, discourse, register, context, examples, metalanguage).

Also, read through the example essays in Fox's Insight Exam Guide for EL, as it may prompt you to consider more points for discussion when you complete your own essays.

Happy studying!  :)

Hi
Thanks for the tips! I definitely still struggle with timing so I'll make sure to work on that this week :)
