Leeway on answers during exam?

Hello guys! Hope studying is going well, c:

Anyways i've been wondering since i've been doing a few practice exams, whether or not the examiners will give leeway into giving you the marks if you are like 0.01 or 0.02 answers (+ or -)  to the actual answer e.g the solution given to the question is 1.362 however i get the answer of 1.360

Nope there aren't any leeways.
You have to round correctly

they are strict on this with no leeway
they need to do this so that there is a distribution of the grades at the top end because most of the content isn't that difficult, so they separate people on things like that LOL it is very characteristic of further maths

If you are dealing with lots of consequentials answers VCAA will usually give a small range with answers that they will accept.
For my modules, this happened mostly in Geometry and Trigonometry and Business Maths where choosing to use an unrounded or rounded answer from a previous step could lead to an answer which is hundreds of metres off or thousands of dollars off.

Have a read of the assessment reports for Exam 2 and you'll see what sort of range VCAA expect your answer to land in for you to get the mark.

Following on from what Zealous said, another thing to keep in mind is what VCAA mentioned in their 2014 exam 2 report:

"In general, when the answer for a previous question is expected to be rounded, then students should use that rounded final answer for the consequential question. Intermediate values should not be rounded within a question. Intermediate values should be retained and the final answer should only be rounded as required."
