Trimester System Question (Centrelink)

There are a few universities that operate their study year on a trimester system. I was wondering though, does the third trimester count as a 'proper' semester or is it considered a summer semester?

Just asking because I want to know how Centerlink will process my youth allowance if I stop studying after Trimester 2 which ends on the 23rd of October for me.

you are not entitled for youth allowance from the date you cease to be full time student.

Six or more units in a 12-month period equates to a full-time study load. So technically you can do two subjects per trimester and it will still be considered full-time if you do all three trimesters (I did that in 2014 from trimester 1 to trimester 3).

Slightly off-topic, but I heard that for unis with regular semesters, you have to do at least 3 subjects per semester (ie. you can't do 4 subjects in semester 1 and 2 subjects in semester 2). Is this true? Or is it fine as long as you do at least 6 subjects per year?

Oops :P Yeah, with unis that operate on a semester basis (as far as I know) you do need to do at least 3 subjects per semester to be considered full-time, unless it's changed since 2012 when I attempted the same thing at Melbourne.
Strange there's a difference...
