Like what month do the 'you have been accepted' letter come in?
Or in my case, most likely the 'Sorry you're too stupid to be accepted into this university' letter come in? 😂

Is it December? January? Febuary?

1st round offers are released are released on the 18th January, 2016 for most of your typical university degrees. The onus will then be placed on you to accept the offer and start registering for all uni related stuff.

University offers are done through VTAC. I assume you're already familiar with this having put in preferences over the internet. Instead of receiving your offer by a traditional letter, it is a lot more likely that you will receive an offer from VTAC on behalf of the university, or other universities that are not your 1st preference may send you an email to the account you gave to VTAC. In this sense, they act as a middleman between you and the university.

Other important dates can be found here: http://www.vtac.edu.au/dates.html
2016–2018: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Neuroscience), The University of Melbourne
2019–2022: Doctor of Medicine, The University of Melbourne
