I always.. always get 38-39/40 and 57-59/60.. and i get so disappointed and angry at myself...am i setting my expectations too high? What scores would i get if i do that in the exam? Its just so frustrating that i always make silly mistakes

That's pretty good dude. You can't always get 40/40.

Theres just so many expectations in year 12 that if i dont get that i feel like i will be letting people down.. or worse even myself.

Figure out what's causing you to lose those few marks. Re-do those few questions, critically analyse them. Do them separately on their own - multiple times if you have to. Go over notes. Put those you get wrong into your bound reference! Do similar questions to the ones you're getting wrong.
There's still time to improve and you will most likely hit your best in the actual exam.  Don't fall for anyone's pressure, just try your best. As long as you can walk out of the exam knowing you've tried everything to prepare and gave it your best then you can relax :)

Good luck !

I don't do further, but what I've found is that finishing early and going back to check (esp. decimal places, units, etc) for methods and specialist enabled me to full mark Exam 2's for the first time :P.
That meant finishing with 30 mins to go for Exam 2's, and roughly 20 mins for Exam 1's

I will definitely try this, i am starting to get a few 40/40 but i am taking about 10 extra min because i read the question 3 times over, and check my answer twice. Maybe i should cut back on that time and use it after the exam. I will try that thanks.

the best thing to do with further is to make sure you read the question properly the first time and do it properly the first time. just take an extra 30 seconds to read the question really slowly, refer to your bound reference, and make sure you really know what its asking, and to make sure you answer the question with correct units/decimal places/method. you should still have enough time at the end to go through the questions and just check you used the right numbers and put your answers in the right format
