Discussion for Context here!

How'd you find the prompts? Did you punch the air when you saw them, or just cringe in despair? :D If you needed a reminder of the exact wording, a copy of Section B can be found here!

Encountering conflict prompt was quite good, I struggled with one of my outside resources but I got there in the end. I used A Separation and Every Man in this Village is a Liar in my piece.  :)

The imaginative landscape one seemed pretty vague. I managed to complete it, but keep going back and wondering if I did it right in related to the prompt. Hopefully I did ;o

Encountering conflict one was alright in my opinion, no big surprises. I'm happy with it and I could just do a straight expository like always. Took a glance at the identity/belonging one and it looked quite good, but I can't make a real opinion as I've never done it.

Conflict was easy, and I think I did pretty decently. Maybe a 6 - 7...

I feel that Whose Reality was good for Death of a Salesman, but not so good for Wag the Dog. Guess which text I'd prepared for? Sigh...

I definitely feel for those who chose wag the dog, even DOAS was hard enough for me :/

The I&B prompt was great. Similar to one that was covered in class in the beginning of year, so it wasn't too much of a struggle.

The encountering conflict prompt wasn't horrible, but I was hoping for something a little different :/
I wrote on EMITVIAL, just worried that I didn't relate to the prompt enough because I panicked quite a bit.

I thought the 'Whose Reality' topic went well for those who studied 'The Lot'.

Leunig talks a lot about politics/consumerism, and I talked about these in a hybrid piece. Starting with some imaginary anecdote, continuing with expository, then tying it all back up to the anectode.

Hopefully I linked it to the prompt sufficiently by suggesting that theoretically we elect our leaders, but do we really control their actions/the nation's the future, and then talking about how our needs and excessive wants have essentially created consumerism, but we now have no control over it, and are trapped, moving with the masses of society to get the latest gizmos.

In my opinion, the Whose Reality prompt was decent, but different to a lot of the previous years. I was expecting one of subjectivity, given the the previous two prompts were on conflict and consequences (my ideal prompts. It worked well with my two texts Death of a Salesman and Foe, and well as my external examples. Again the quality of my response was compromised by LA.  :(

I didn't think it was too bad for WTD. Talked about how the media can't tell us what to think but they can tell us what to think about (e.g.; giving air time to war with albania instead of sex scandal)

Whose reality prompt was great for the lot. Honestly the hardest part was choosing an idea and going with it because I was stuck between consumerism, conformity and prejudice as themes to extend upon. In the end I did a bit of a combination of the last two where I explained the connection that discrimination and the us-and-them mentality individuals have as being the result of ancient tribal behaviours that promoted the importance of ones own self, family, race, country etc above all else and how despite overriding these deeply embedded reactions through social progress that opposes the norm (at their beginnings) such as gay marriage, multiculturalism etc, we can never eradicate them and at best keep them dormant.

Wag The Dog was perfect! He cannot control our reality if they media is doing it for us!
