One question took 15 minutes to load on my old CAS and still didn't come up. This cost me two marks and the kids at my school with the new CAS didn't have the same problem. Would vcaa ever take this into account? Seems very unfair. Question was the one about intersection let me know if anyone had the same problem.

I don't think it would be considered by VCAA unless it affected a lot of student similar to the VCAA 2010 Methods Exam to which it would be given marks for: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/answers-just-didnt-add-up-on-year-12-maths-methods-exam/story-e6frf7kx-1225963534508

Also out of curiosity, what was the Tasmanian Jones question about? :)

According to the VCE DiscussionSpace on facebook, Tasmania Jones have died - there was no Tasmania Jones question. RIP.

Looking forward to see a copy of the exam if someone could upload it.

Hope it went alright for everyone.

Which question was that? The examiner's report doesn't seem to mention it and the article doesn't specify.

Yep, no Tasmania Jones. VCAA was being fully serious this time. I found it much harder than last year's.

It was a fairly good exam only tricky questions I found were 2nd last question last part and last question last part other than that it was a good exam

Well it was released before VCE Study Scores came about so maybe it was pure speculation :S
According to an old exam thread, they were talking about Q3: Students' marks altered on VCE maths exam after a calculator issues

And writing out Tasmania Jones? Expecting a full revival in the next study design next year!
But definitely looking forward in seeing how the exam was this time around.

Was not able to get the "when n is an odd/even value" questions. Also couldn't figure out how to find the range of 'd' values, I only found one value.

Apart from that, think I went pretty well (hopefully).

I'd rate it harder than some of the past exams. Will be interested to see the average grade on some parts of Q4 and Q5.

Was disappointed not to see a Tasmania Jones question. Was going to write "See you Tasmania, thanks for the fun all these years!" below the question to get extra marks from the examiners, but alas no opportunity arose  :P

I think it was on the fair to hard side. Hard in that it felt like their was a lot of work to do in the time given. Not so much the diffuculty of the work. Lots of just solid calculator number crunching.
Ive got the new white CAS and it wouldnt solve the intersection for me, so i ended up graphing it and zooming out adn finding the intersections that way. It just wouldnt load.

Couple of good questions. Very last part of last question (i ran out of time on this one) and the the two questions on the values if n is positive or odd what not. Didnt answer these two and got part way through the very last bit of the last question. So already dropped 6/7marks.

Yeah, it was quite a bit harder for me as well. I unfortunately already lost 4 marks from questions I didn't answer. I only had to guess 1 multiple choice question though which was pretty good. I definitely preformed worse across both exams than I usually do. My expectations have probably gone done quite a bit, but I'm just so happy that I've finished methods

This happened to me when my calculator was in standard. I had to reset it and come back to the question later. When I did I just put it in decimal and it solved straight away.
