Isnt the oxygen in the thermochemical equation supposed to be 49/2 not 51/2 , or is it just me?
yea i got 49/2, I think you get 51/2 if you forget the two oxygens in the hydrocarbon thing
Yeah it should be 49/2 O2

You could also have said glycerol or KOH for the layers question.
:)

In Q4, I read absorbance as 10.0 mmol/L (extra sig fig, but the graph doesn't say anything) (simply my interpretation of the graph). Is this acceptable?

For the isomer of butanol, do you have to draw butan-1-ol or could you draw something else?

Could glycerol be found in the aqueous layer in question 9a?

Yes to both questions.

Lol does anyone know? Or is this blurry, grey, in-between-the-lines stuff that we can't know until VCAA comes out with the exam report  :-\ A bit stressed over one mark, but yeh

Also, with everyone talking about 51/2 and 49/2, I doubled coefficients (and deltaH) - was there any issues with that? (so there's two methyl palmitate in the eqn)

Yes, I'm sure that'll be no biggy.

No issues with that at all. I actually think that doubling the coefficients is better, since you can't actually have 49/2 oxygen molecules.

I think I wrote methyl stearicate instead of methyl stearate. I had all other marks correct for that question, however.
Do you think I'll get the mark for the naming?

Hi.  I am looking for some answers to last years exam.  The link in this thread is not working for some reason.  Does anyone have a copy they are able to post or know of one elsewhere online?  Thanks
