How do the below clearly in offers work?

I'm wanting to enter into Arts at Melbourne which had a Clearly-in of 90.05 last year. I slacked off this year, only picking myself up in exams and ended up with 88.45.

Last year the minimum ATAR requirement for Arts@Melb was 85, with 23.31% of the 1500 places being offered to those below the 90.05 Clearly-In. I'm hoping that I fit in to the 350 or so spots that make up the bottom quartile.

What are my chances, and people's chances in general of getting in a course if they are slightly under the Clearly in? (Assume here that the clearly-in this year will be similar if not the same).

Also, do things like:
* A solid score in Literature (37r), which I guess would have relevance in an English heavy course
* Qualifying for VCE Baccalaureate (above 30 raw in Methods/Spesh and a Language)
* High standardised score in the Arts and Humanities section on the GAT (47)
make any difference in terms of how they pick and choose? Or is it just the people with the highest scores ?

Thanks in advance guys
