Ciao ragazzi
I recently ordered a statement of marks for my Italian exam after receiving only a B+ for GA3.
Today the statement arrived, and it turns out that I got 58% in the written exam, with 0/15 for Section 3.
I felt that Section C was my strongest section in the exam; one of the prompts heavily suited an essay I had written a week earlier.
Admittedly, a native speaker helped me write that essay, and the language used was beyond that of the study design, but I felt that it was necessary to use such language in order to obtain a 14-15/15 (in practice exams, I was stuck at 13/15).
Regardless, I don't see how that would warrant me getting a 0/15, nor could I find any rules / regulations regarding such a thing on the VCAA website.
In other sections of the exam, I also feel that I was marked very harshly (0/4 for a question in Section B and a few .5 marks)
For reference, but probably of little relevance, I was averaging in the high 80's for practice exams, and I walked out of the exam expecting 90%+.
So basically, should I get my exam inspected?
Reasons for
- Study score and ATAR may be boosted slightly higher if I'm able to have it reassessed
Reasons against
- I would have to go back to school next year
- I might not be able to have it reassessed (maybe it won't be considered an 'exceptional circumstance')
- I have to pay more money (an extra $23), possibly for nothing
- My ATAR is high enough to get into my first preference anyway, why bother
