VCE English Language 3/4 Tutoring 2017

Hi there,

My name is Edmund and I am offering tuition for VCE English Language Units 3/4 in 2019. I graduated as the Dux of Melbourne High School in 2015, achieving an ATAR of 99.90 and a perfect raw score of 50 + Premier's Award for English Language.

-----------------------MY AIM-----------------------

My goal is to help you in your study of English Language by providing frequent advice and guidance. English Language can be a subject where you often feel like you are without direction, so I will ensure you always have a clear idea of what to do so you can use your time more effectively. In addition to this, I aim to take you through the course content in an efficient and engaging way, as well as help you build up your analytical skills for SACs and the end of year exam.

I understand that not all students learn the same, so I will do my best to tailor my teaching to each individual. I am passionate about education and I enjoy assisting others in a friendly, comprehensive manner.

--------------------EXPERIENCE---------------------

I've tutored over 45 students over the last three years from a wide variety of schools and abilities, with numerous students achieving raw study scores in the 40's and one student achieving a perfect score of 50 each year. Through this experience, I have a well-developed understanding of what students find challenging and how to guide them with their English Language studies. I have also previously presented an English Language workshop in 2016 for Melbourne Academics, teaching content and exam technique. Additionally, I have worked for Crimson Education throughout 2017, acting as a academic mentor and tutor.

I will provide notes and other relevant material to supplement your learning and help you revise. Practice questions, essays and exams will also be available to you..

-------------------AVAILABILITY--------------------

Due to increasing university commitments, I am only able to offer regular tutoring on Saturdays at my house in Box Hill throughout 2019. I will only be taking on groups of two and I would encourage students to form a pair with a friend, as I have found this to provide a more productive and enjoyable learning environment.

Over the summer break, I am also available for casual lessons for students wishing to gain a headstart on the year.

I charge $40/hour per person for groups of 2. Individual tutoring may be possible at a higher rate depending on availability.

Having had the absolute pleasure to tutor Edmund in Methods last year, I can confidently say that he has all the qualities that a student would look for in a tutor. As someone who saw Eddy tutor most Saturdays at Box Hill library, I can say that he's an excellent tutor. Aside from his excellent knowledge of English Language and great student results, there are other things students might want to know. He arrives early to the library to get the spacious round tables so he and his students don't get distracted by other library goers. He also forgoes lunch (always deep fried chicken) to dedicate himself to enlightening his students. Not only is Eddy dedicated, but he is also generous and willing to help. When he finished tutoring, he would save his seats in the busy library for me. What a great guy. Definitely recommend!
