Guys, I have a massive problem with people being loud. Please, if anyone notices a particular person is being obnoxious af, get a good look at what they're wearing and where they're sitting so you can describe them to me, and I will either make them be quiet or send them tf out.

I can't even remember what guy I wrecked today or if I even pointed anyone out (13 hour day and stuff etc memory etc) but lol, go me, whatever I did.

You also gave a nice speech in specialist (9:20 am) today  ::)

Legitimately thought you were trying to trick me because I didn't talk in the Spesh lecture until the online tutorials speech, then realised that I told everyone to sit tight for like 2 seconds. Nearly had me ;)

although it would have been nice if the crowd could have been a little more respectful

I don't understand why a person would even bother attending a lecture voluntarily during the holidays if they are not willing to pay attention. I can understand if a school made something similar compulsory during the school term, but if you are dedicated enough to go out of your way to go to a lecture out of your own free will, why?  ::)

I know, this is what I thought as well. When Thushan had those live online polls up (which were meant to be used to answer the question he asked), responses came through like 'I don't care', 'Who knows', 'It doesn't matter'. Like, why are you here if you don't care?? :-\

I think its just to people coming just going just to hang out with their whilst doing something educational.

Also, not everyone at the AN lecture is part of the atar notes forum community(which have ridiculously high standards + hardworking) thus sometimes unable to keep up with the lecture content as the lecturer will only have time to explain something 1 to 2 times which is not always enough for everyone.

Imo, that's the one problem with doing a totally free lecture rather than attaching a small cost (e.g. must pay $20, but you'll get notes as part of it).

Because it's free, people don't value it as much as if they paid hard cash for it, so they're more likely to
a) prioritise something they paid for over it (e.g. VCESS) even if the quality isn't as good
b) randomly decide to miss it because they don't feel like it today and there's nothing at stake
c) learn less from it (a more casual attitude, less concentration and note-taking, chatting with friends, disturbing others etc.)

Attaching a cost, no matter how small, would be a barrier to entry however (it would have been for me in VCE), and your lecture attendance would be far lower, if a little more dedicated (plus losing the advertising perks of the word 'free').

You should all be peering over each other's shoulders to see who's surfing AN in between listening :P ... that'll give away who's who.
