CAS Working out in Further Maths

I'm working on the data unit in further maths, and I understand that you are able to use a CAS calculator for everything. My only problem with this is knowing how much of my working out to write on a page.

In methods, it's simple enough to write in what your doing if your using ithe CAS to solve an equation or something similar. But in further where you use the CAS to analyse data, what should I write for my working out?

  Generally speaking, working out does not play a big role in Further Mathematics and you usually only need to provide an answer to obtain the marks. If you think working out is required, then write out a few steps as you deem necessary but there is no need to go overboard like in methods where more emphasis is placed on working out.

  In terms of what you right down, if it was a two-part calculation then the first step may be required, but trust your mathematical instincts as you will most likely know what the question needs.

Depends entirely on the question. If it involves using a formula, state the formula, show the substitution and then you're right just to write the answer.

If you're asked for only one piece of information, e.g. 'what is the standard deviation of this data set', just write the standard deviation and the number of decimal places you're approximating to if you're not told how many you should be doing. If there's more than one step, e.g. 'calculate Lucy's standardised score based on the class results in the table below', state the mean and standard deviation before you even start working out the answer.

If you're unsure, write more. You can't lose marks for being too clear.
