Year 12 study tips - anyone interested?

Hey everyone,
I'm contemplating writing up some advice which I found useful during my year 12, and perhaps others will too. However, given the number of 'year 12 stories' already out there, I thought I'd ask popular opinion first.
I'd be listing some principles which I applied in general, but also detailed advice for each of my subjects (maybe not Englang haha).

Anyway... is anyone interested? If so, are there any specific questions which you would like me to answer? maybe some points neglected by other posts perhaps?

P.S. AN has been a great place for advice and support for the last year and a bit... hopefully this is one bit I can do to give back ;)

Any specific questions? :)

In regards with chemistry, I slept through units 1/2 ( haha ) and i really regret it now, I passed all my exams and got 80-90 for most tests. but I didn't know it well and I usually just crammed before a test. I want to do well in chem and i want it in my top 4 so how do i overcome this? should I revisit the 1/2 course? I am confident with my 1/2 content to the point where i can get a 70-80 sometimes 90 but not confident to the point where i think i am able to get a 45+ on 3/4 chem. Should i re ahead in 3/4 or go back to 1/2?

How did someone homeschooled and distance educated motivate himself?

Another question probs too personal and too harsh but did you have social media or friends as a matter of fact? Sorry for being so direct.

Would definitely be interested, especially seeing as you did so well and doing it through distance ed. I'm doing German through VSL distance ed, and would really appreciate your perspective on that, how you coped with scheduling, keeping up, getting help, other resources etc.

Some individual advice on your subjects would go really well (like usual student, I definitely need help for chem, perhaps more like a miracle but I'll take what you can get me ;) ). Spesh as well, I want to know how you'd go about really understanding the content, because I find it interesting, I want to do well and I appreciate that memory and practice can only get you so far. :)

Otherwise just general tips, things you found effective, I feel more importantly, things you recommend not doing. Balancing time, social life, studies, other activities and whatnot. Study techniques, sac prep. Something I personally would really like perspective on is getting ahead; how important is this, what happens if you don't stay ahead, do you forget things around sac time..?

Clearly you did well so realistically anything you have to offer will help us all! Thanks for taking the initiative to offer zsteve! :) appreciate it man!

Hi zsteve,

Firstly congratulations on your incredible ATAR!

I would just like to know how you planned your time during VCE? Did you set a routinely timetable for yourself or just revise/work on the subject that you felt necessary to study at the time?

Yes please! This would be awesome and by the looks of all the replies so far, people would definitely find it helpful.
I think it would be awesome if you could do a guide on how you got high Study Scores in Chemistry, Specialist and Methods - how you studied, how often you studied, how you dealt with procrastination (if you had to deal with it at all!), your motivation and just general tips on how to get a 99.95!! :D
