How hard is it to average 65%?

I'm considering hoping for a second round offer to Melb commerce looking to go into engineering (possible mechanical). Just wondering how hard it is to satisfy the 65% average to get a CSP place?

Also, do you think my ATAR (98.7) is high enough to get a second round Melb B.Comm offer?

Can't answer first question but for the second question, your ATAR will guarantee you an offer for BComm at UoM (over 95 is guaranteed).

Even a second round offer? Sweet cheers.

Pretty sure there's no quota for it but here's something from their brochure (I'll try to find something more reputable than UoM brochure but for now): http://futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/809586/2016-UoM-Commerce-brochure.pdf
Quote from: Page 23
Eligible domestic students who satisfy course prerequisites and achieve an ATAR of 95.00 or above are guaranteed a place in the Bachelor of Commerce.

EDIT: And here too http://futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/admissions/entry-requirements/undergraduate-domestic

Basically second round offers give you an indication of clearly-in and whatnot so if your ATAR is above the clearly-in then I'm fairly certain you'll be admitted a spot (especially for courses with no quota like Commerce compared to say Biomed at UoM).

I've only completed first year but 65% average should be very manageable imo.
ATAR: 97.10
2013-2014: English Language | Chemistry | Biology | Methods | Specialist | Japanese SL
2015-2017: B. Biomedicine @ Melbourne University

I agree although I've only completed one year. I remember hearing from someone that generally in first year the average is a H3 - not sure about 2nd or 3rd though.

A 65% average in first year commerce really isn't that difficult if you put in a decent amount of work. You'll be fine.

65% average for someone who got over 98 atar should be absolutely no dramas if you dont slack off in uni.
also especially if you have any semblance of mathematical aptitude then you have already overcome alot of the problems that commerce students face in the degree with subjects like qm/qm2/econometrics etc.
i have a few friends doing the commerce > engineering pathway and theyre all really happy with it so far. also a couple of the grads ive talked to have done it and said it is awesome because if you find a really good job related to commerce immediately after graduating there is no need to go on to the post grad engineering.

sounds like a good idea overall

I did two commerce subjects as my breadths and got 80+. Shouldn't be too hard
2015-2017: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Neuroscience)
2018: Doctor of Medicine (Withdrawn)
2019: Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies?)

Wait you should have gotten a commerce offer your atar was above the clearly in. Also 65+ is very manageable but I think for engineering they look at the final two years only now. "Students who complete an undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne and achieve a weighted average mark of 65% in the final two years (by 2019)." ATAR: 99.70 Methods [48] | Chemistry [49] | Specialist [41] | Further [46] | English [42] | Biology [44] | Literature [35]
Melbourne University Bachelor of Biomedicine (Biochemistry) 2013-2015
Monash University Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) 2016-2019

In uni getting H3 is very achievable, as long you remain conscientious in school, work consistently and don't slack off.

If you're able to achieve 98.70, you'll be able to achieve even better than H3 if you maintain how hard you worked in high school. Of course you can definitely improve your study skills and achieve even better results 8)
