Complicated situation with Uni Melb. Need help/advice.

I'll try to make this as short as possible.

Basically I completed a Bachelor of Arts at Deakin (2014) with a WAM of 80 (GPA 6.1/7.0). After completing the B.Arts I decided I wanted to jump into the Bachelor of Commerce at Uni Melb, but I obviously needed to satisfy the Mathematics pre-requisite.

So In the third trimester of 2015 I  enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin in order to fulfil the maths requirement. I did a unit called Introduction to Mathematical Methods (SIT190) and even asked Deakin to make sure it was equivalent fo Methods ¾ and they said that it definitely was.

But I am worried the University of Melbourne may have not seen that I satisfied the pre-requisite, because I was not given an offer for the B.Com despite being told I was basically a shoe-in. What should I do?

Have you already contacted UoM? If not, I'd do that ASAP. It could be entirely possible that your application got looked over because they didn't see you had the maths equivalent. Try to get in touch with the admissions department because there's not much we can do on AN and there's literally no harm in trying to find out why you didn't get a place. If there was a mistake along the way, you could be a good shot at getting a place in a future round.

I am yet to contact the UoM, but I'm thinking of getting that sorted today because I sorted placed all my eggs in one basket with this B.Com degree.

Spoke to someone from the UoM chat and he said it was worth looking into. Directed me to a link which contained some sort of VTAC inquiry form and I just sent it off (go.unimelb.edu.au/9q8a)

The thing that makes me worried is that satisfying the pre-requisite cannot be done via an equivalent unit at another university. I'm hoping that is not the case. Before I took up the unit I made sure to call UniMelb and they said it was OK, but the customer service operator may have been at fault.

Does anyone know how it works? can the mathematics be completed at another uni or is strictly via UniLearn?
