Osmosis is the net movement of solvent molecules (like water) across a semi-permeable membrane from lesser solute concentration to a higher solute concentration.

There are three different types of osmosis:
- Hypotonic- when the same solution has a lower solute concentration than the other
- Isotonic- When both solution are equal in solute concentration
- Hypertonic- when the same solution has a higher solute concentration than the other

Osmosis is the spreading of solvent molucules non concentrated places. For example, if blood is concentrated at one place but not the other, the movement of blood to the non concentrated place is called osmosis. The point of this is to balance out the molecules on each side.

*Well, tonicity classes.
 Good explanation!
