Is Health and Human Development 3/4 easy?

Hi
I'm in year 10 and subject selections are approaching soon. I'm doing 1/2 biology right now but plant to drop it next year..

IF my marks are good for enough to grant me a 3/4, should I pickup HHD? Was also considering 3/4 further..

I know no subject is 'easy' but how is it content-wise? Overload? Lots to remember? I know it scales down by a fair bit so wondering if it was pretty easy..

Does anyone know the average study score for HHD? Is a 40+ possible?

Thanks

Aaron

There's certainly A LOT of content to remember - but it's doable. Check the past exams and you'll see the types of questions that are asked.

Did you find it interesting and enjoyable? Or boring?

I found it interesting. I think it's a great subject. There is a fair bit content-wise, but as Aaron suggested, certainly manageable (particularly if you're doing it as a Year 11 3/4). And the scaling isn't too bad if you do well enough.

What will your other 3/4 subjects be? What do you want to do after Year 12? Perhaps that will influence your subject selection.

Was planning to do commerce after school so will be doing subjects like methods, economics, accounting etc. was considering HHD in year 11 if I have the opportunity as it looks appealing.
Was also considering to do history or further maths instead

Do you enjoy maths? I think if you're planning on going down the commerce path, Further may be a better option. The biggest mistake I believe I made throughout VCE was choose subjects I had little interest in.

Was interested in both equally so that would be the problem. From reading in atarnotes, both subjects seem to be the easier ones. Would u know which one is easier? And yeah, I generally like maths.

The issue with Further is that even though it's perceived as 'easy', the competition is intense. This means that as a result, every mistake you make counts (especially in the exams). Whereas with HHD, this isn't as significant.

I personally think Further is a better fit for you because it'll give you the foundation for those subjects later on, but take into account what i've also said about the competitiveness + mistakes.

Year 10 PE and VCE PE are completely different - less of the focus is placed on 'practical' and more so on the sports science side of things.

Probably read the study design and see if the topics interest you, then as others have mentioned go through the practise exam to see the style of questions.

Personally I loved the subject, found the content really interesting. There is a fair bit to remember, but if you find it as interesting as I did it shouldn't be too bad. It's not that easy, you have to be good at writing and there are some questions worth 6-10 marks in the exam and answering them in full detail can be difficult.

Best of luck

I think the best thing for you is to look at the study design (as Rod mentioned) for each subject and review past exams to see if the content is something you'd be interested in pursuing. There's no point doing a subject you have absolutely no interest in, because it'll show in the end via your study score.

You can definitely pick up 3/4 Health. It's not exactly 'easy' as such...like the content is easy if you are able to remember and understand exactly how to connect the dots. There's a lottt to remember, but it can be done. I'm in year 11 now and I only picked up 3/4 health this year and I've got 97% on all of my SAC's so far. As long as you put in the work, it's easy :)

Hi. Did anyone do both further and HHD? Which was easier to obtain the higher study score?
