yeah i think i wrote weather was a compounding factor because on the route back, the numbers were decreased massively. i'm still not even sure then

Me too. I said compounding factor as well. I couldn't figure out if he won or lost; does it count as winning if you come back with like 10 000 troops but started with a hell of a lot more?

Numbers and switches was fun. Got it well enough.

Anyone else have really grumpy assessors? I'd be smiling if I got paid to come supervise kids doing an exam...

Our assessors are so scary it's not even funny. They're like Snape-level scary, only without the feel-good backstory at the end that makes everyone instantly like them. A few of them used to be subs at our school and there are like horror stories of when one of them threw a fit at a bunch of kids and made them all stand outside in the blistering cold while she stormed off and threw a tantrum to a year level coordinator about their being "too loud". O.o

Lmao what did the spanish word mean?

I'm pretty sure i said stalemate.

I noticed like in the good ol days, there was always a 'fancy' word option which seems to almost always or always be incorrect.

The binary question mentioned earlier was quite easy, just time consuming but some other the other questions were even worse. Didn't help I couldn't pay attention in the first half of the gat.

Same, I think it was 'Benzizna' or 'Benzena'. I only remember because it sounded really familiar to the French soccer/football player 'Benzema' lmao.

Yes the Napoleon question.

They beat the Russians but they ended up losing all their troops and ended up with like 1k of 200k lol

Ooooh. I remember now.

Yeah. It's French.

Think it means disastrous. From inference and from the fact that my mother knows French well enough and she told me that there's some weird saying (insert fancy french saying I only half picked up here) that basically means that something's a disaster. She could be wrong though because she hasn't had cause to use her French in a very long time.

I can only remember my answers for the first half (soz to the person requesting our answers to compare with); my retentive memory is good but it's not that good, esp. considering the fact that I can't remember where I put my copy of the GAT. I can only picture the first half of the MC bubbles I filled in; after that my memory of the GAT isn't reliable enough for me to be able to definitively tell you what I circled.

Welp I may have misinterpreted that napoleon question.

I assumed coz his name is so well known that he was pre successful.

and was like i aint doing any hums so ceebs with spending time on this q (that infographic was so annoying to read)
And the scale wasnt consistent. Like 450k people fit was like 4 cm wide and 50k was 3cm wide? Bich where the other 400k people go in that cm?

I spent nearly two hours on the writing tasks (whoops...), then answered the humanities/arts questions and kinda guessed the maths questions. I figured that since two out of four of my subjects would be based on the writing tasks, I'd be better off putting most of my time and effort into those (and the humanities questions when I finished the writing tasks). Maths really isn't my forte (as you might be able to guess from my subjects).
I also woke up really sick yesterday (and was sick today), so I was given a separate room, permission to take medication, a bucket and rest breaks while I was completing the GAT. Unfortunately, the medication (painkillers) I was prescribed (and which I took in the GAT) made me really drowsy and sick in the stomach, and I ended up lying on the floor of the room I was in for about 20 minutes, so let's just say that I better sit my exams :')

Hey I hope you feel better!

Not sure if it's appropriate to ask this but what is it like being sick with a vcaa examination? By a separate room did you have someone staring at you the whole time? And did you get extra time? Soz just curious.
