Thanks guys!!

And I don't mind at all!
When you have a 'rest break', you flip the question and answer booklets over on the table, and are able to walk around, lie down or get some fresh air if you need to (with the supervision of a VCAA person). With the separate room, I was in the room with an examiner for the duration of the exam, but they were really nice and a bit more casual about the whole thing than when I completed my exams with everyone else last year. Like, they still read out all of the stuff they have to, but before reading it out she said to me 'sorry, I just have to read this out, but I know you won't be trying to cheat', and she knew my name.

Also, I was given additional time (after 1:15) to make up for the time I spent in the rest break, but you're not able to keep working or look at the paper while having a rest break.

I actually already had the conditions (i.e. - permission to take a particular medication, rest breaks and a separate room) (excluding the bucket) before I was sick (for other reasons), and for my end-of-year exams, but it was quite coincidental that I was physically ill as well.

To get the conditions (and permission to take the additional medication I was prescribed today, alongside the one I was already permitted to have), I had to get evidence from specialist(s), and a letter from the doctor I saw this morning.

Edit 1: Typo.
Edit 2: Another typo.

For the first writing task, you know how you are NOT supposed to present an argument, well I'm a bit confused. For eg: if one took the persona of a specialist speaking to students and telling them how taking care of noses is important, are they presenting the facts and figures from the prompt as arguments?

I think I just messed up, real bad...

tbh i didnt know you could adopt a persona. I just wrote the stuff summarising it and linking different ideas together. I thought that is what the task asked for :O.
My one seems pretty bland in comparison tbh

yeah that is fine,
As long as you didn't have a contention and you didn't attempt to prove or push that intention.
I personally just wrote about the ability to smell from a biological, economic and sociological perspective.

When I was in year 12 I wrote an episode of "Coxy's Big Break" (it's some crappy day-time TV show). I got through Year 12. You'll be fine :)

If I spoke about how the nose should be looked after, would that kind of be my contention?
Idk man, I'm so confused rn

I wish I was that confident, I'm such a nervous wreck. I literally stayed in the hall till the very last minute for the exam, for no particular reason other then the 'what if' concepts going on in my brain.

Don't worry if it's bland since you probably utilised the material in the right way (plus you'll probably make up for it in your actual English exam anyway).

From a personal point of view, in Year 11 I took on the persona of Ron Weasley channelling his inner Magnus Carlson repeating facts from the booklet to "present the info" (strong imagination I know LOL) and did alright but in Year 12 I just took the bland approach and made sure everything flowed and gelled together and got a pretty awesome English GAT score LOL

But in the end, the GAT is a bit a good banter to have before Unit 4/Exams begin xD

It's that thoroughness which will lead you to a comprehensive understanding of your subjects.

I think it's something that's universal to all high achieving students - that "what if" because they've seen enough to know that there is in fact a "what if."

You'll need to tame that during the end of year exams - build up your confidence in practice exams and so on. But until then, cherish it because it could accessorise your success :)

and the gat is meaningless to reflect on (tbh i think its useless in total but i'll stick with reflect on for now) - coz by thinking about it you're not actually learning anything that's going to improve your VCE education. Unlike school sacs where the content will be relevant once again, stuff here wont be.

So try not to think about it anymore, coz there's honestly no point. Like 0 point.

Out of all the thing I miss from High school, the GAT is certainly not one of them   ::)

I personally feel that it's completely worth it for all of the banter and memes that result from it :')

From memory, I think I got C's for all of those pentagon triangle heart questions. I think. I misplaced my copy of the GAT paper so I can't tell you for sure. :P

What about you?

I think I did too, but I'm not sure.

When I saw Kanye I actually started chuckling and had to cover my mouth. But really, who thought a comprehension task on Kanye would be a good idea? :')
