*** MALCOLM TURNBULL DOWNPLAYING HIS WEALTH? ***

Hey guys!

As we approach the start of Unit 4 AOS 1, it'll be a good idea to start to comprehend the Australian cultural values as this underpins a large part of this AOS.

As I shift my mind to Unit 4 AOS 1, I noticed that Malcolm Turnbull as of late has been downplaying his wealth as we near election day. Why might that be? Australians are not the biggest fans of those who achieve wealth and success as it is intrinsically linked to our cultural heritage and values. Instead of greater a better social relationship with Australian audiences, it seems to have backfired on him – it led to the social media frenzy of using the #MalcolmWasSoPoor hashtag with many making jokes on Twitter and Facebook. Many accused the video’s sentiment of being contrived and pandering.

Thanks!
Dmitri :)
