It is out, and basically all of your questions can be answered if you actually read the series (especially the 7th book)
Agreed, no spoilers

So what you're saying here Jake is that they're putting themself in the mindset that they have heaps of work to do? I'm kinda confused
Anyways any Harry Potter Fans here? I hear that Harry Potter and the cursed child is coming out soon (someone please confirm this for me). Anyways who here likes Harry Potter? I'm not really into it although I did watch the old movies a long time ago, although so many things about the series still interests me like who does Harry Potter marry, how does Voldermort die, who replaces that dumbeldore guy that was the principal of hogwarts, how old is harry potter at the end of the deathly hallows, etc
Without speaking for Jake, I think what he means (and I agree) is that no matter how much is on your plate, you are full. Someone who does 6 units for example will feel just as busy as someone who does 24, because how busy you are is dependent on your motivation. The only things that change are how your hours are allocated between units, and how many exams you sit at the end. Regardless of the number of units, you feel freakin busy.
As an aside, I don't view those who do less units as
advantaged, because we could do the same. I did 12 units because I liked all the subjects and wanted some backup security, I can't say someone who does 10 has an advantage over me because:
a) I could drop a subject if I wanted to
b) I have a potential advantage results-wise, because only my best 10 units counts, a little extra security
