They'll take your HSC mark if it's higher than your projected average! So nothing to worry about :)

If your illness/misadventure application is upheld, you will receive the higher of your exam mark and a mark determined from your school assessment mark or unaffected parts of the exam.'

guys what does the last bit mean?

I reckon unaffected parts means you seem like you did well anyway and got full marks for that section or something

On the day of the HSC results, do they text our raw HSC marks to us or is it the scaled HSC mark?

It's partially scaled, as I understand it; it's scaled within the subject (so you can compare yourself with the rest of your cohort in that subject directly), however it isn't scaled BETWEEN subjects (so you won't know how your English mark will scale against your Maths mark, for instance).

Can you only find out your raw mark if you buy your paper from Bostes?

Yep, that's correct! I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you're particularly unhappy with your mark, and expected to do better, however I know a number of people who purchased their exam for their own edification!

Ah k :) My modern teacher is buying my responses and raw marks for me cos he said it helps him with teaching it next year. I'm kinda interested to see what I end up getting for individual sections so I'm pretty happy with that haha

Usually if your teachers want to BUY them for you it means you're at the upper end (band 6 guaranteed). Always a nice souvenir for you as well.

For ext 1, on the raw marks database website, the raw marks are out of 100, but the exam is only out of 70, so how do we calculate it out of 100?
