Methods Concern re GAT - HELP

Hi everyone, I know people must be sick of hearing about the GAT but I would really appreciate if someone cleared this up for me as it is kind of on my mind :/

Just have a question re the GAT and its influence on a subject like methods.

I consider myself pretty good at methods but unfortunately, due to poor time management in the GAT, i had to guess 20 maths/science multiple choice and thus probably won't be looking at a very good GAT result for the maths section.

I am currently rank 1 in methods at my school. If I perform extremely well on the exam, will my chances at getting a 45+ or even perhaps a 50 be diminished? Or will my GAT performance just be neglected due to a good exam performance?

Just would like for people to clear this up as I hear lots of different things from others. Thanks! :)

The gat will have no impact on your scores if you actually sit the exams.

For example people have ended up with 50's in certain subjects when their corresponding gat score was around a 30.

Thanks for your reply, that is comforting to hear. I guess my other concern is that if the top 5 in my year level are very skilled in methods, and we all sit the exam and score very well, but i am the odd one out with a bad GAT score, will VCAA won't look down on me in comparison to others? Or that wouldn't be warranted? This is also assuming I DON'T get the highest exam score.

Okay cool, thank you very much. Do you or does anyone have real examples of people obtaining excellent study scores whilst getting very poor results in the corresponding section of the gat?

Is it seriously true that the gat can bring you up if you do poor in exam? Like, surely if you do poor in exam, it can't bring you up that much because this would disadvantage others who worked hard for the exam and subsequently obtained an excellent mark...

Why you should bring 2 pens to the GAT
Not sure if it's true but...

not true as in the gat wouldn't stop his sacs from scaling. (studnent has been given wrong information)

no specific scores but many people have 45+ even 50 with average gat scores. This happens because the gat doesn't impact any of their scores if they sit the exam.
personally my bio score was very similar to my maths/sci/technology section.

So as an indication, was your bio study score what you expected to get after completing the exam? Or did your gat score possibly increase it?

yeah it was around the range I was expecting.  :)

I don't think may gat score increased my study score because I obviously sat my bio exam. :)
