Sorry to ask but......

Hi guys,

I know these types of questions are really frustrating but I feel like a need some reassurance just for my confidence.

My first further maths SAC on finance was 80% and I just sat my matrices SAC and couldn't answer the whole last page.

I have already finished the course and am working extremely hard at the subject. I have been doing every VCAA paper and it's modules to prepare for my SACs. In addition to this, I have been doing company exams and textbook tests, thus have been exposed to many questions.

However, in the SACs I come across these odd questions which are quite obscure in the way they are expressed.

So can I still get a 40? I apologize for asking this, but right now I don't know where I'm going wrong! My confidence is suffering and I need some reassurance that hard work will hopefully pay off in the exam.

Thank-you  :)

hard work always pays off ; it may not be obvious at first, but rest assured it does.
RE: can i get a 40? Who knows, but you increase your chance exponentially the harder you work, and push through- but just seeing how much you care about your studies, i am sure you can :)

Certainly, you can still achieve a 40. Remember that whilst SACs matter in determining your ranking. It's the exam that will matter the most when determining your study score for the subject. You shouldn't stress on just one bad SAC, as it is a very small percentage of your study score. Just try and work harder from here on out and smash any remaining SACs and the exam. You'll definitely be setting yourself up for 40 or even higher, provided you put in the effort.

Further is a super competitive subject. And ultimately it does all come down to the exam because sacs are only 33%.
I ended up with A+, A and A+ and got a 42. If you work hard, anything is possible. I would often read through examiner reports for the questions that were done poorly in past years often crop up again. Good luck!

Guys As we are on the topic, if I end the year with 99/100 sac marks in further but still be second ranked in the cohort and ace my exam, can I get a raw 50? (Assuming the person ahead of me aces his exam too)

As long as you don't go to a school where the highest score in the cohort every year is <35 or something like that (where coming 2nd nets you a B/B+ or lower in SAC scaling), then you should be fine.

You go to Camby though, anything top 5 there should be good.
