.Wait do yo do cssa, Our whole school fuc*ked that up big time. The average for my class was around the 60% mark... I dont know if our teachers were being harsh or I dont know lol

Yep we do cssa.. Wow our whole grade went down sooo much. I think the teachers mustve been harsh esp in Paper 2 because I ended up getting 3 B's (13,13,15/20) and still got quite a good rank (The average was about 36/60, I got 41)

I did heaps shit man!

I got 17/20 for my creative (assessment).... Got like 66% for trials which was 54/75 and in other assessments was getting around 14-15's/20s. Then in the one fucking listening task, I got the last rank cause I had no idea what the fu*k was going on....  >:( >:( >:( Bullshit :-X Which put me down all the way to 70/75 for the Second semester. For the yearly rank im like 60-65/75 now... its total bull man

I didn't go much better overall in the Trials lol... A 72% or something like that overall. In my creative and essay (assessment) I got 19/30 because i didnt care back then. Only my speech (90%) dragged me back up to a band 5. (either sitting on 79 or 80 I cant remember)

Try to always link a technique to a question, idk teachers love techniques

dont forget to explain the effect of it and link

Yes, teacher literally froth when they see you reciting a part of the rubric, or using a technique. But this must relate back to
a) the question
b) Discovery
c) the text
d) the point you are making

Good luck for tomorrow everyone :)

Massively agree with conic above, though you don't have much time to practice now, a brush up on some Discovery concepts and techniques would be useful! ;D

Some other tips stolen from the wonderful Elyse:

My top suggestions are:
1. Try finish reading all of the unseen texts in the reading time
2. Remember to relate each and every response to discovery. If this means you need to make your own mini thesis statement for each one, that's cool!
3. Using an obvious technique isn't a bad thing, especially if you're pairing it with an awesome analysis.
4. In your preparation, think about what the techniques of visual and literary texts are that gel with you the most. I have friends who could spot a metaphor from a mile away, but they hadn't refreshed visual techniques in a long time and couldn't spot the most obvious vector line. So give yourself a refresher on them :)

And one from me: Be smart with how much time you give to each question! Don't write half a page for a 2 marker, don't write an essay for a 3 marker, don't get stuck and write 2 sentences for a 5 marker, etc etc  ;D a few sentences for 1-2 marks, a body paragraph for 3-4, extended response (don't go too far above 2 pages) for 5-6 ;D

Hey Jamon!!!,

A vector line is something that draws attention to the audience in a picture right?

It basically makes your eyes follow it (i.e. if its a path going left to right, then your eyes will go from left to right. Vice versa. or If its going up, then your eyes will move up move from the bottom of the path to the top. Vice versa).
