Scaling process/ formula
« on: September 07, 2009, 10:58:45 pm »

From the scaling report they give the mean and standard deviation of scaled scores.
I am trying to figure out how to scale a raw score to a scaled score but cannot figure out how.
Does anyone know??
I did find the z-score, then multiply by SD and add th mean.
But this scales evenly throughout rather than scaling less further from the mean.

Anyone know??

Thanks

Its a mystery. Only the likes of Euler or Newton would be able to solve it.

I think you have to use the formula.

I believe it's more of a data analysis than a formula plugging.

I wonder if they have a formula for Field's Medals and Nobel Prizes.

What I want to do is find the scaled score for numbers in between those listed on the scaling report.
