What do you mean by ranked really low? If it is considered to be an underepresented school by the universities which you are applying for then it is under category 1.

i am not sure if it is considered as underrepresented by universities but it has a median score of 24 and 0.5% for scores over 40 according to last years results. So what would i put in my seas application regarding to this? ty

Hey jayleno!
Low ranking per say doesn't matter, however if your school is underrepresented (i.e. not many people go to uni), then you would need to select the checkbox in category 1.

Hope this helps. :)

Sorry for hijacking OP, but I have a question that's been on my mind: What is the personal statement thing on the VTAC website for? Really should've tried to memorise when they were presenting this in school.

Thanks

Hey blacksanta62, the personal statement section is where you add stuff that can boost yourself into a course. Some universities use this as a culling method for getting into some courses- thus take special note of whether or not each course definitely needs one. However, if you don't need to have it for any course, it's still alright to have it, it may be taken into consideration, along with SEAS.

Hey jayleno, I believe you would put it in category 4. Just remember to have an impact statement and a statement of support from a GP or other medical practitioner. :)

So what are the requirements before I can write one?

As with SEAS on VTAC, you need to have at least one course in your course preferences to open it up. :)
I don't think there are any other requirements, however there are questions about work experience/community experience, as well as general statements and course specific statements you can fill out. HMU if I'm unclear. :)

Hi,
Is there any considerations besides SEAS during the exam. At the start of the exams I got tonsillitis. Who should I tell this to?

You can apply for a Derived Score with VCAA but:

VCAA must receive an application no later than seven days after the student’s last external assessment in the relevant assessment period

So if you qualify for SEAS does it increase your SS's or your ATAR or something else?

doesnt increase atar; university entrance scores are "lowered" (not exactly, but in essence) and your application is 'considered' differently, increasing your chances of getting into your course w/o meeting the clearly in ATARs for many courses + they also have guaranteed entry pathways e.g Monash Guarantee for science is like 75 provided you meet the pre reqs ahhah!
