No but seriously, before we stop the conversation so suddenly, I do want to emphasise to anyone who reads this that ATAR Notes isn't about getting a 99.95 ATAR or a state rank or whatever. It's about working hard to meet your goals, and giving everyone the opportunity to do the same. When we bring new people on board the lecturing team, the marks are important for obvious reasons, clearly you need to know your stuff. But they aren't
as important being someone who is passionate about the accessibility of education, passionate about their subject matter, and keen to work hard to help the students who attend their lectures. Marks are important to a point, but thereafter secondary to the other qualities that are far more important for educators. Approachability, empathy, drive, the ability to explain things clearly, and (I use the word a lot because it is so important)
passion
