But in exam 1, scores are more tightly condensed at the higher end, meaning that every point you lose in exam 1 affects you more than every point you lose in exam 2.

Yeah you're right

I think it is, because every other way can not be reduced to 1/b :)

For the last question, if we did part A and sorta skipped part B and coz there was 10 secs left and you wrote it is higher than the median, would you still get a mark or nah ?

I think you would get 1 for correctly identifying, but not one as you have not proved it.

I'd aim for about 60/80, but I am not too sure

Hey guys, if for the log question 5 a ii, if I stuffed up the domain, but wrote the correct range for that domain, would I still get a least 1/2 marks? :(

for stating the composite and inverse functions , did we have to write it in functional notation, coz I didn't
Since we had to state the domain for the next part, I assumed we just had to write the rule

I don't think so... in questions where you have 2 options I'm pretty sure you only get the mark if you pick one and justify it.

I believe you would, as a mark each is allocated for domain and range.

I assumed the same, so I think that is all we had to do.

Does anyone know if consequential marks apply for this exam? I know it does for Exam 2, not sure about Exam 1. I managed to misinterpret one of the probablity questions about the tagged/untagged sheep for part a) but managed to show adequate working + correct formulas for b) and c) using the incorrect value.

Just bumping again in case anybody knows. Slightly frustrated with myself for not having reread the question since it was such a simple mistake.

So I cooked it and forgot to simplify it to (2/3)^24. Will I lose the mark?
