Hi guys. I was wondering what grades you got for your SACs this year.
I am doing Informatics next year and want to get a heads-up as to how difficult/easy the subject will be.
Also, if you have any additional advice for next year I would love to know.
Thanks in advance.

G'day scanz_

I completed Computing: Informatics this year with a SAC average of 98.4. If I had anything to say about the course as a whole: repetitive. Most of the core concepts repeat throughout the AOS' and sufficient study should yield quite impressive SAC results. Plan out all your tasks and do not cram them into the last week or day, and you should be fine.

Cheers,

Skumzy

My SAC average was around 81%, although I believe I was either Rank 1 or 2 in my class (out of 11 total students xD). The best advice I can give is to make sure you fully understand the concepts (this is pretty hard with VCE IT in general as there arent many good resources apart from vceit.com) and seek help from your teacher to clarify things. Do your best to constantly pester your teacher to mark practice SACs and exams etc. Good luck and let me know if you need anything, although I already threw away most of my notes...

I averaged about 93% on all of my SACs (did it back when it was IT Applications in 2015). vceit.com (as mentioned by Skumzy) is a very good resource, run by a retired teacher who now works on the VCAA panel in charge of the Infomatics study design, so you're getting advice from one of the people who created the study design. Just study hard really as with any subjects, there's nothing too complicated in the subject that you'd need to worry about. If they still do the Access databases in this course then you'll start finding it repetitive but as long as you push through there's no reason why you can't achieve high scores.
