How to study for chem

So ive been really trash at chem and a really unmotivated student. My method of studying is just to take notes in class and attempt relevant questions from the textbook if I can be bothered (which is never). So I found this method really unsustainable and unenjoyable, but I guess some of it falls on me for being so lazy.
Im more of a visual and hands on learner (all I remember from 1/2 chem is the pracs), and I was wondering if there was a better way or more engaging way to study-specifically for chem.

Hey,
I don't do chem at the moment but i guess what you can do is to watch a lot of videos on youtube. Also, my friend is a visual learner too, and he just listens to chemistry podcasts (i think they are called chemisodes) or videos and then he  basically draws everything that he understands. I remember him saying he didn't take any notes at all for some concepts in chem because he simply didn't understand it that way.  One another thing that will be useful is to watch the process of how everything is done. So say you don't know how something is done, just google it and watch videos. Also, when you take notes, don't copy the textbook. Look at the textbook 2-3 times and write everything you understand in your own words. You'll understand more this way.
Hope i helped!
