Going away all of February- HELP!!

Hey guys, I'm looking to start at Melbourne Uni next year with a bCom (I have the clearly in atar so barring a miracle ill be accepted on jan 18)

I have a bit of a problem which is that I am going overseas for pretty much all of February so unfortunately this means I miss all the orientation stuff. Im also a bit concerned because I need to pick my subjects and Ideally I would like some assistance to know what subjects I need to pick for my relevant majors.

So I guess I wanted to know, how is subject selection/timetables actually done/when is it done? Can i do it from my computer on the other side of the world?

also is there a formal 'registration day' at the uni? Is it ok if I don't attend that.

Also is it bad to miss Orientation, I'm a bit bummed to miss it, but I guess I wanted to know what else I can do to make sure I am well set up both academically and socially.

Any help would be appreciated

btw, merry christmas

Cheers

Subject selection: Can do it online.

'Registration' day: Not that I'm aware of

Orientation: Clubs & Societies day might be fairly useful, but just get friends to sign up for you. You can always sign up later.
Make sure you get a friend to keep you updated though :/

Don't worry! All the class registration and timetable enrollment are done online. All you need is internet connection ;D There's no official 'registration day' that you need to attend. Even if you did miss out a few things or like to change classes, that can still be done early in the semester so don't have to get stressed out.

As for orientation, it's perfectly fine not to attend. It is just a tour around uni to familiarize you with the campus, and there will be a clubs and societies expo. For the clubs and society, you can join them any time during the semester either by checking out their booth usually displayed at the Student Union or simply walk into their meetings ;)
