Hi I was just wondering is buying notes such as TSSM, tsfx and other companies as such really worth the money? Could I perhaps work really hard with just the textbook and get a good study score. And if yes which company sells good notes for this subject

Thanks ( just a really confused person)

I can't speak specifically for those companies (being from NSW), but I think notes like that work really well for specific scenarios. They are far more concise than a textbook and often contain little bits of helpful information that textbooks may not. Studying from these notes is easier than studying from a textbook, in my opinion. If you get notes like the ones from ATAR Notes, they are written by past students that have a lot of helpful tips to share :)

That said, you can absolutely do well without them. These are just one of the many tools that are out there to help you succeed. Hard work is the key to success; these notes can make it easier depending on the type of student you are. Of course, everything you need to know will be in your textbook. But these sorts of notes can present things in a new way to enhance your understanding and make the information easier to absorb.

But you can definitely get a good study score without buying any extra notes! I bought notes for some of my subjects, but not others - I did equally well in all of them. For some I just found it a useful tool for me personally ;D

hey girl, tbh for a subject like hhd you don't really need to spend big bucks with those companies, but if you would wish to, then go ahead! this is because, the textbook covers what you need to know, but as mentioned above

-> are extremely helpful!
if this were methods or chem, then yeah sure i'd spend money with tssm or tsfx but yes, it is possible to work really hard (legit) with the textbook and get a good score. come to think of it, i bought checkpoints and they were extremely useless to me.

I never tried those, but I went to the access education lectures by Sonia Goodacre (?) and honestly, SO worth it. Mind you I got tickets for free through my school, but I would've paid for sure.

Great lecture and advice, and the notes she provided were just... amazing.
