Good Morning All,

I was wondering if in methods families of functions and transformations are the same thing? I am looking at some practice resources that I have. In my text book cambridge senior maths chapter 3 is known as transformations, however on the practice test I have chapter 3 is known as families of functions. Any answers would be much appreciated!

nah

But in all seriousness, yes and no, transformations are the process of mapping one function to another, a family of functions is all the functions with similar form.

Eg. x^2 and x^2+5 are in the same family.

Families of functions is just uber broad..

I mean whilst transforming equations you're technically working with functions..

Just a very broad chapter test it would seem.
