HSC Playlists

Hey all!

For both my Trial and HSC exams, I had this playlist that I would listen to for about an hour before the exam. Does anyone else use this technique to a) forget the seriousness of what you're actually about to do and b) boost your confidence?
If so, I'd love to know what songs feature on these playlists! For me, The Pretender by Foo Fighters was the ultimate pre exam jam. How about you?

Does the audio recording of my Module B essay count? I'm mean it was pretty lit not gonna lie...

Hahaha, but yeah I guess I kinda did something like this for a few exams :) I know before Modern I'd often watch/listen to the Epic Rap Battle: Rasputin vs Stalin, just cos it was hilarious and would help to calm nerves, but was still semi relevant so I was still kinda in the "modern mindset" ya know? Same thing in Ancient, our teacher played "Pompeii" by Bastille haha

If I was to create an actual playlist though "Come on Eileen" would 100% be on it. That song never fails to make me happy  ;D

I would feel obliged to wear overalls to that exam if listening to that song :P I can't believe I missed it on my own list though!

Even though I did VCE, I love playlists- I actually made a couple of CDs with tracks on it for specific subjects during my VCE- I think I had Barbie Girl and the Macarena on my English one! :P

Recently I've been having a really good throwback to trashy cheap music (think, Barbie Girl). And The Fast Food Song is played every night when I make dinner.

Mcdonalds, Mcdonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut...

This is kind of really weird, because until 2-3 months ago I never listened to Kanye West in my life, and on a whim while doing work, I put The College Dropout on YouTube and now I just consistently listen to that album when I need working music.

I've never listened to any other Kanye album/song so it's kind of random but........ good album.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

What else was on your play list?

Lots of Bikini Kill. Generally, songs that fired me up - think angry with lots of guitars. As such, rage against the machine featured heavily on there as well.

On the flip side, it also featured that new Genghis Khan song. My reasoning was if someone could write that and make money off it, then I could write the upcoming exam and be successful.

I feel like Kanye is unavoidable. I'll have to listen to him one day

Hahah, I'd love to know the reasoning behind these! To relieve stress? To get you excited?

Just as background noise, really! I just really love music (I have a large collection of songs (around 5000))
But it did provide a lot stress relief when I needed it! :)

At this point I more so appreciate the "idea" of Kanye than his actual music hahaha

over a year old but will still never get over this #kanye2020

Taylor Swift's Shake it Off

Definitely Taylor Swift's Shake It Off before/after an exam!!!

I've found that listening to classical music before an exam is really helpful. The La La Land Score is stunning and that's been helping me destress recently!

My really embarrassing playlist also includes High School Musical...

Hey!
I did the HSC last year (2017) and my 10 units were English Advanced, English Extension 1, English Extension 2, Legal Studies, Maths and Studies of Religion 2. I achieved my ATAR aim of over 90!

I loved tutoring and running essay writing workshops (privately and at InFlow Education) so much that I decided to study a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in English and minoring in Maths!

If you're thinking about tutoring, let me know x
