Major advice

So I know it's early days, and I know the general consensus is to just do what you enjoy, but I was wondering if anybody has any feedback/recommendations/experience with the following majors. Is there a major that helps with med school in any way?

The majors I'm interested in are
- Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
- Microbiology & Immunology
- Human Structure & Function
- Neuroscience

Thanks in advance  :)

Pick a major that you enjoy the most. That being said, human structure and function is probably the most helpful for med. But do anything to maximise your grades at third year and the best way to do that is to pick something you enjoy. Your grades are more important than what sets you up for med, provided if you have no guarantee of getting into med in the first place.

Don't do a major because you think it'll set you up well for medicine. There's absolutely no guarantee that you'll get into med, and the cover all of the relevant material in the first year (or so I've heard). HSF doesn't really set you up well for anything else.

Biochemistry and Immunology are the best if you're interested in research, but really, it doesn't matter that much. Just choose the one you enjoy the most and think you'll do the best in.

Second this. I did a Biochem major and am now studying med. Sure, Biochem is useless in the sense that I haven't been able to skip many lectures because I already know that content, when perhaps some anatomy majors might be able to. On the flipside though, my understanding of the content is enriched by a knowledge of the biochemistry that's working behind the scenes.

This effect isn't specific to biochem, of course. It's the same with any major.
