Ah man, school starts so early ahah
Struggles of a night owl

My initial plan was to do the methods test, but now I'm not sure what to do :\\
Could someone offer some advice?

A) Do Methods 1/2 in Year 10 and do Specialist 1/2 in Year 11
B) Do Methods 1/2 and Specialist 1/2 in Year 11

Which one do you guys suggest doing?

By doing methods 1/2 in year 10 you have the advantage of completing 3/4 methods in yr 11 meaning 1 less subject to worry about in yr 12. You can also do physics unit 2 in year 10 and do 3/4 in year 11 depending on your grades so you have 2 less subjects to worry about.

Did anyone that got into JMSS have a scholarship for their current school?

I had an academic scholarship for my old school.. (currently @ JMSS)

If you've done year 10 maths already, then I think you should try out for the methods test. If you don't get in, you can always go with plan B :)

Ugh the thing is that my school doesn't offer SEAL or any accelerated program for that matter. In maths, it's done in classes, so it's infuriating to have to sit through math classes with people who still struggle with easy stuff. The teacher somewhat extends me because they know that I'm capable of doing more advanced stuff -- they even suggested that I should do methods next year (or this year if the school allowed us, which they don't).

From what you guys have told me, I think that I should be able to take on methods. However, I'm not sure if it's a good choice.

If you know the year 10 content well, it shouldn't be a problem for you to handle.

I heard a vast majority of the test is on quadratics

I don't see how it could be a bad thing. I'm doing year 10 maths at the moment, yet reading some of the people here talking about their preparation for the methods test make me feel miles behind. I'm still going to sit the test, if I get in, cool, if I don't, oh well.

The good thing about this is that you'll still be at JMSS if you don't make it into the methods class. So it's a win-win ahah

The test covers the basic year 9/10 maths you would be expected to know. It does not go into the Methods content. Just some Quadratic equations, simultaneous equations, exponents and a few inequalities.

No not yet , Not me at least,
Is there any separate mail which says that we are on "wait list", or we have to just assume.
