:'( :'( :'( :'( im trying to learn all this stuff about metal oxides and displacement reactions like I CAN'T. so much content. also, do you think we'll need to know in-depth diagrams about skeletal and respiratory and circulatory systems and all that??

Try not to stress out so much about cramming all this scientific knowledge. The stuff on the scientific reasoning will probably only be very general things that require you to have some prior knowledge and be able to interpret the information given to you.

The scientific essays will give you a sufficient amount of information so that you are able to write it.

As for the body systems, you should try to learn the basics: learn what organs are in that system and what their functions are.
Even if you don't provide an incredibly detailed diagram of the body system, they probably won't mark you down on it.

I know that this kind of thing stresses us all out, but guys: try to relax for the remaining days.

So what are the topics we're tested on? I know there's numerical and general math and an essay or two. What else?

If you're asking for the test format, then it's:
Mathematics, Numerical Reasoning, Science Reasoning, 2 essays (scientific and prac)
When faced with a problem, you either find a way or an excuse.

I am most worried about the scientific writing and practical report...only two days left. We only have to be in the half/third to get into interview!
That is so good!! Phew

okie that sounds pretty doable. did any of you go for the mhs macrob exam last year?? you may have an advantage over others in that you know what to expect from the exam. i certainly hope so.

What are some examples they might ask  us to write about for the practical and scientific essay?

i think they've had stuff about coral bleaching and greenhouse gases and angle of incidence before.

Do they give you any prior information???
What kind of scientific writing do you write.
e.g. do we persuade the reader that greenhouse gases are dangerous.

Is the scientific writing similar to the one that we get on select entry exams??
Thanks

Good luck with your exam on Saturday guys !! Try not to stress too much and make sure you go to bed early Friday night rather than cramming in any more knowledge. Try to remember that JMSS isn't necessarily testing for how much scientific knowledge you can memorise, but rather if you have an aptitude for scientific thinking and a genuine passion for STEM.

PS. Draw diagrams in your essays !! Include at LEAST 1 per essay, the more (relevant diagrams) the better :) They don't have to be works of art but they are really beneficial if you use them right
2017: Psychology [38]

2018: Methods, Viscom, English Language, Chemistry, Uni Chemistry (hopefully!)

Aim: BPharm @ USyd
