Sigh.

I started off super eager and excited. My group and I did a pretty good job with our puzzles. We got along well.
But the individual interview deflated my enthusiasm. My interviewer would ask me a question and I would give my response. In the middle of my explanations, she would try to rush me and move onto a new question. Maybe it's just me, but I felt so disrespected. I felt as though she didn't even care about my answers. Maybe she rushed it because I was in the last group, but still. I feel so dejected and disappointed.
I guess I'm just gonna have to rely on my resume and the 3% rule.

Overall, my experience was great for the group interview, but rushed and terrible for the individual one.
===
Was anyone else rushed for their interviews? I've lost a lot of hope after the individual interview. I don't think I'm gonna make it into the school :')

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

That's pretty sad that you prepared so hard for the interview and in the end they don't even care about your answers.

Yeah, I feel so crushed. While I was waiting, other people had long interviews and their interviewers seemed engaged in their conversation. Since I was in the last group, I guess they grew impatient.

Man, it pains me how I didn't get a fair amount of time compared to other students, so this is gonna have a lot of impact on my results.

that's terrible!!! I'm scared they might do that to me too, that sounds so rude though, especially since everyone should at least get a fair go.

Also, what time was your interview, Shadestache?

Hmm. Maybe you should tell Mr. Corkill about it because the individual interview would have the inaccurate result.

Agreed, but there's not much I can do :')
My group interview started at 3. Individual interview started around 4:40.

I don't think this will do much. They've interviewed a bunch of people (Mr Corkill was one of the interviewers). What difference is my input and circumstance going to make?

Nah. I don't think she was one of the interviewers. At least, not for today.
I had this female interviewer that I forgot the name of :') She's not a teacher but she works in another department that does interviews and stuff. T-T

Guys, I'm sorry if I'm scaring or worrying you with my experience. I'm just feel extremely dejected.
Just be confident, make eye-contact and smile. Hopefully, you guys will be treated a lot better.

That's ridiculous! I would feel the same way. it's not right that you were robbed of the same opportunities as others.
now i'm scared gosh.
Keep faith shadestache. You're ridiculously smart and it sounds like you did really well in the group task. I think you have a really big chance.
Also - was there an individual puzzle problem solving thang?
And did they actually look at your folder of reports and stuff during the interview?

Thanks for having faith, despite not knowing me and despite me losing a lot of hope.
But like I said,
Guys, I'm sorry if I'm scaring or worrying you with my experience. I'm just feel extremely dejected.
Just be confident, make eye-contact and smile. Hopefully, you guys will be treated a lot better.

You have group interviews first, where you do a rotation of different group activities. Then you're given a sheet with a puzzle that you have to work individually on. After that, you sit and wait for individual interviews (and hopefully, you get a better interviewer). Midway or something, they will look through your reports, awards, certificates and whatever you have in your portfolio.

Thanks. Btw, do you mind telling us what questions you were asked?

Echoing what Squid said, it kind of defeats the purpose of an interview if I tell you.
Just focus on general interview questions (don't memorise an entire speech, but know your main ideas), have a good resume and get along with your teammates.

Oh no, that's kind of worrying. There's a chance they may grow impatient and rush you.

Would you say the individual puzzle thing was difficult, do-able or cake? That's what i'm worried about the most.  :-\

The puzzle may change, but the one I did was do-able I guess. I would say that it's a logic puzzle.

Edit: Ugh, is it bad if they only wrote notes on your accomplishments, and not your personality or aspirations for the future?
