Heat of reaction question

Hey I came across a question in a book that confused me: the question asks you to explain what the difference is between the kinetic energy of the reactants and the products in an exothermic and endothermic reaction. Is the kinetic energyof the reactants or products greater in an exothermic reaction, and why?

Thanks in advance :)

products have greater kinetic energy, greater kinetic energy, higher temperature, heat is given out in the reaction.
