Weird Question - looking for a word

Is there a word to: make something more clearer by showing the opposite of it.

E.g. The importance of life by showing how pointless suicide/death is or something like that.

You could always just use a synonym for "clear" and add thee fact that it's made clear by showing it's the opposite. For example,

"In examining the pointlessness of suicide, the author highlights the value of life".

"Highlights" is a good way of saying "makes clear", and you just say within the sentence that "it's by examining the opposite".

There might be just one word for it but I can't think of one right now.

Because you are dealing with two concepts, I actually struggled to find one specific word that describes this, but i hope these sentences/phrases help you in some way haha:
The situation was pinpointed due to the disparity.
The issue was exemplified because of the divergence.
The matter was accentuated because of the contrast.

CONTRAST. That's an excellent word. "The contrast between A and B does... xyz"

You could also turn it up a notch...DICHOTOMY.
"The dichotomy between A and B..."
The markers love these long words  :P

Also an awesome word.

Juxtaposition is another sick one. "The author juxtaposes x and y", "The juxtaposition of  x and y"

Far out, juxtaposition and dichotomy were like my BUZZWORDS in Year 12. Everything was a dichotomy ;)

Juxtaposition?? By contrasting two things youre able to see both sides from two different perspectives. Or satire??
