Tips on how to smash EngLang from now?

Hey guys,

I'm a Year 12 doing EngLang this year and i'm loving it!

Would you have any overall tips on how to get a 48+ raw for EngLang? Having done a self-evaluation I feel like my problem isn't knowing/learning/understanding the content itself, but rather, applying that content into different questions (we just had a short answer question SAC and....yeah, it just went..like y'know, it went SO well -_-). I'd greatly appreciate any guides on how to approach the different sections of the exam.

Thank you ^__^

P.S: yeah the short answer SAC part was sarcasm in case you didn't realise.

How many practice exams  does you school have? I want to start them but don't have any -.-

I guess build your examples for your essays. Know how to discuss them.

The most obvious answer is practise (I bought, used and asked for practise papers). I did a few practise essays over the year and slowly got better at them. I also had a glossary on Excel and a quote bank which was very helpful come exam time. The thing is also to build an example bank with recent linguistic examples.

Note: I didn't get a 48+, but I still improved over the year, so, in terms of personal goals, it was still an achievement.

Only ever bought one... from a TSSM stall at a careers expo I attended in my Year 12 year. There are several companies that sell practise papers: TSSM, Boo Book Education (company with Kate Burridge textbook) and I think Insight are the three main ones I can recall off the top of my head. Most I did were actually hybrid exams I formed from the sections not copyrighted by VCAA or the ones I got from my teacher (I can't remember which paper it was).
