If you ever want an international student to be your friend for life, give them a tiny morsel of vegemite straight from the jar, then tell them that most people give international students an entire tablespoon and tell them it's similar to nutella, but you refrained out of loyalty.

Legit, started randomly talking to an international student in one of my tutes, proceeded to tell him about the whole Australian political system, drop bears, vegemite, slang, etc.
He received a comprehensive Aussie education in about 90 mins

Did we go to primary school together (technically could have since I lived in Melbourne for a year haha)? - within a few months of moving from England we had year 4 camp and everyone (including teachers) convinced me drop bears were real and I actually started crying
