First year Commerce student and I recently got a WAM of 78.00 for this first semester. I'd like to go on exchange in second year second semester to North America or Europe preferably. Schools I'm looking at, however, have previous WAM intakes of 80+ and some even in the 90s so it's obvious that I need to improve my WAM. Currently, after seeing Stop 1, my study plan looks a little like
this. I did not elect to do a breadth subject over this Winter break.
So a few questions:
1. Which semesters/years results will contribute towards my WAM used for exchange applications?
2. What is the jump like from QM1 to QM2, especially for a first year student? (I think I am going to do QM2 instead of Intro Econometrics given that I have heard QM2 is easier and I did relatively poorly on QM1 72%)
3. And so, would it be wiser to do some 'easier' subjects like breadths now (before my exchange applications to boost my WAM) instead of trying to complete some harder ones like QM2 in first year and Investments in second year (to alleviate some pressure on my third year)?
4. How many summer subjects are you allowed to do over the course of one summer?
Thank you!
