HSC question

Hey guys,
Just to give you a bit of background on my school-
Last years cohorts highest atar was 78 so basically my school is trash, however, the 2015 cohorts highest atar was 96 so it tends to fluctuate.
My cohort consists of around 30 people and we have 6 kids who generally excel in every subject including myself. Rest of the cohort tends to achieve low marks in their subjects (most fail their subjects).
My subjects- rank and current estimated course mark
Advanced English 78% 5/12
2 unit maths 94% (1/7)
3 unit maths 85% (1/4)
Biology 90% (1/12)
PDHPE 99% (2/9)
Legal studies 90% (1/14)
If i maintain these maintain these marks after trails and say for example i bomb out in the hsc due to loads of stress and anxiety.
How does this affect my atar? and are my current marks worthless atm? like is it still possible for my atar to be below 80?.
sorry guys, im just honestly stressed out and i really want to get into my course.

Hi! I'm doing the HSC this year too and I can definitely understand the anxiety of bombing out the HSC due to stress, but a mindset I like to keep is that if you put the most amount of effort that you can into your studying and your work, you'll get the mark or result you'll want!

As for your dilemma, I know a few people who went to "low-ranked" schools and still came out with amazing ATARS and results. It's all about the amount of effort you put into your studies, and from your ranks that I can see, you're doing really well! (Like hello, you're first in 4 subjects!!! That's amazing???!!!)

Your current marks aren't worthless, and it's definitely possible for you to get an ATAR above 70. I think if you continue how you're going, you won't be affected too much by the rest of your cohort + can get the result you want (: Good luck!!

2018: Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced Studies (Dalyell Scholars) @ USYD

Hey Guss!! Welcome to the forums! ;D

Really agree with the response above, you are doing really well and you are definitely on track to hit your target ATAR if you keep working hard! ;D

If you want to know the full process by which your ATAR is calculated, and maybe get a better understanding of how your ranks and marks affect your final result, I wrote a guide you can read! :)
