Checkpoints for all my other subjects is brilliant. Great mix of original and exam questions that refine questions for each SAC. Even Accounting 1/2 checkpoints was rather well done.
But 3/4 accounting checkpoints?
- Nearly all of the questions are just straight out of fairly recent VCAA examinations and the original questions are noticeably poorer.
- The lack of any templates for you to use will mean you'll be forced to use Excel or waste time drawing them up.
- I'd say that at least 5-10% of the solutions have a mistake in them, and you can tell if you cross-check their solutions with VCAA. It's just sloppily done and clearly hasn't been properly reviewed before publication [
I get that there's a limited amount of resources in Accounting, but this simply isn't worth $35. I shouldn't need to question myself when I'm correct or believe I'm in the right when both the author and I made the same mistake. I'm sympathetic for the man who had to gather and answer all of these, but he's clearly been overworked because the quality of this book visibly degrades.
Cambridge, you can do better.
