Valedictory: to go or not?

Hi all!
I was after all of your opinions in regards to attending year 12 valedictory dinner. My school's val is SO expensive (more so than formal) and I'm so put off by that. Also, my family has a LOT of dietary requirements and I know that's going to be really annoying to deal with. Also they're not really friends with parents from the school ( I haven't been there long)
Despite all this, is it worth going? I'm very sentimental and don't want to miss out on something that I'll regret, but I also can't be bothered/think it will be more stress than it's worth.
Year 12s and graduates pls give me your opinions :(

My general stance is that it's always better just to do these things, because you'll never remember the $200 you spent on the ticket - ever - but you might end up wishing you'd gone. So why the hell not?

When I have a decision like this, I just think... will I remember the negative reasons in 5 years? This movie is expensive but will I remember the $20? Might I remember the laughs throughout the movie?

Just do it and don't think about the annoying shit. You'll never remember an annoyed waiter - ever. Just allow yourself to have fun and don't give a second thought to your misgivings.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

I agree with Brenden, I definitely think it's worth going. :)

Valedictory dinner was definitely a highlight of year 12 for me, and I would have seriously regretted not going. In the end, you're coming to the end of your formal education - a pretty important milestone to celebrate, in my opinion. You'll have some good memories to look back on in the future, and you won't be left wondering whether you missed out on something, if you go.

Plus, it can be a really fun night!
