Hmm..I don't really get it either. But i think it's probably something to do with the fact that our (Homo) biological evolution allowed us to develop culture (Any form of learned behaviour), due to increased brain size and enhanced ability to communicate accurate information etc. From this, I presumed we were able to develop technology, as we were able to pass on knowledge to next generations (culture again), all stemming from our original biological evolution. Hope this sounds correct. :S

Also forgot to include the fact that biological evolution enabled our ancestors to develop and fashion more elaborate tools, and the development of technology is simply a refinement of these tools, with the purpose of making human life more convenient.

This is a lol part of the bio course. Essentially biological evolution yielded larger brains which led to higher level thinking. It is only that which allowed us to develop communication and writing, which allows us to more efficiently transmit information not only between generations but within generations (so it isn't biological). Cultural evolution is essentially learned behaviour. It is not restricted to humans; you can learn cultural traits just as well by simply imitating. Technological evolution is as brian said all about tools initially.

Btw, this does turn up on exams.

Summary:

Biological evolution (larger brains) provided the framework for cultural evolution (transmission of knowledge and learned behaviours) which was based on technological evolution (for better control over the material environment, e.g. tools).
